Welcome to the Friends of the Capitol, Inc. mementos page. We offer a variety of gift items that commemorate the Michigan state capitol. The proceeds from each sale go directly into improvements and activities that benefit the capitol and its visitors.

Below is a complete list of the items we offer. Most items are only available in limited quantities, so please order early.

 2005 Capitol Holiday Ornament - $21.20

The 4" x 2 ½" two-dimensional 2005 ornament is hand crafted by American artisans, finished in 24K gold and presented in a gold gift box. On November 28, 1878, Thanksgiving, the Capitol was rapidly nearing completion. It would be dedicated on January 1, 1879. The Reverend George Duffield delivered a sermon entitled, The New Capitol, or, The Wilderness Rejoicing in which he described Michigan's new Capitol. Excerpts of Reverend Duffield's sermon describing the Capitol are included with the 2005 Ornament. The 2005 Ornament features a two-dimensional likeness of the Capitol dome.

 2004 Capitol Holiday Ornament - $21.20
The 3” x 2 ½” two-dimensional 2004 ornament is hand crafted by American artisans, finished in 24K gold and presented in a gift box which includes a description of the building.  The 125^th Capitol Anniversary Ornament features the likeness of the Capitol, framed by a snow-covered pine tree and light pole with a holiday wreath and a red bow.

 125th Anniversary Silver Coin - $53.00
A limited edition, real silver (collector’s quality) coin was minted to commemorate the 125^th Anniversary of the Capitol. A limited number of coins are available.

 Brass Capitol Bookmark - $5.00
A brass bookmark has also been produced this year. The heavy brass bookmark features the front (east) view of the Capitol.

 Capitol Etching (Matted/Framed) - $200.00
Donald Morey, of North Branch is producing a limited edition of a colored etching of the Capitol to mark the 125^th Anniversary.  Only one hundred etchings will be produced.  Each etching is numbered and signed by the artist and has been matted and framed in a beautiful ash frame. Overall framed size is 16” x 20”. The etchings may be viewed in the Capitol Facility Office, located in the North Capitol Annex.

Ordering

Items may be purchased by mail using the Capitol Memorabilia Order Form or in person at the Capitol Facility Office, North Annex, Capitol Building.  If ordering by mail, please be sure to include a daytime phone number.

SPECIAL INTERNET OFFER - Quantity discounts are available on orders of 26 or more. Order 26 - 99 items and receive a 10% discount. Order 100 or more items and receive a 20% discount.

• $42.40-$63.60 shipping is  $ 6.00
• $63.60-$84.80 shipping is  $ 7.00
• $84.80-$106.00 shipping is $  8.00
• $106.00-$148.40 shipping is  $ 9.00
• $148.40-$275.60 shipping is  $10.00

*Above shipping costs do not apply to Capitol Etchings; which will be shipped at cost.
